Chiang Dao is a tambon of Chiang Dao District, in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. In 2020 it had a total population of 16,746 people. Doi Chiang Dao is a mountain and popular tourist destination located in the Chiang Dao district of Chiang Mai province in northern Thailand. Here's some information about Doi Chiang Dao: Doi Chiang Dao is situated about 80 kilometers north of Chiang Mai city. It is part of the Daen Lao Range, which is a subrange of the Himalayas.

Chiang Dao lies above the Menam Ping gorge on the green slopes of Doi Chiang Dao Mountain. The highest point of Doi Chiang Dao reaches an elevation of approximately 2,225 meters (7,300 feet) above sea level. It is the third-highest peak in Thailand, after Doi Inthanon and Doi Pha Hom Pok.

If you'd rather go by bus, head to Chang Puek bus station, just north of the old city (not the main bus station). They leave every 30 minutes and cost 40 baht. It'll drop you at the bus station in the middle of Chiang Dao town though, and you'll have to hitch or songtaew (100 THB) up to most guesthouses.
